My mother Lise Friend passed away after a valiant fight with Scleroderma in spring of 2002.
Scleroderma is a chronic autoimmune disease characterized by a hardeningor sclerosisin the skin or other organs. The localized type of the disease, known as “morphea”, while disabling, tends not to be fatal. The systemic type or systemic sclerosis, the generalized type of the disease, can be fatal, as a result of heart, kidney, lung or intestinal damage. It is currently not fully understood what exactly causes this disease, although there are various theories.
Little is known about this debilitating disease and research and there is no cure. Because Scleroderma is so rare; funding is limited along with the research required to learn more about this disease.
My mother worked in the health care sector, and volunteered much of her time supporting medical research for all kind of incurable diseases such as AIDS, MS, and Cancer.
In honor of my mother, who fought Scleroderma with grace and dignity; partial proceeds of my readings and treatments will go to the Scleroderma Association of British Columbia.
Please lend your support by honoring my mother’s memory by giving a generous donation today. 100% of the proceeds go directly to the cause and all donations are tax deductable.
